Life is “For the birds”
For two years now I have had nests, eggs and birds on my mind, I am intrigued by the raven and black birds, they show up in my art all the time.
I have been busily creating a little bird sanctuary on the window ledge of my back porch, finding the cutest little birdhouses and cages to add to my ever growing collection inside the house. As I wound up my latest project “One of those golden days” Altered Journal,
I opened my back door to find 2 tiny little baby birds, one unfortunately met it’s demise, (I think they fell out of the nest.) Wanting to help the poor little bird, I quickly commandeered the help of my oldest son Douglas, we gathered up some gloves and readied the empty bird cage in the house, scooped him up and placed him in the cage.
I immediately went to find a syringe or an eye dropper to use to give him water, None found. So I took a little shopping trip to buy one and some food, as I was shopping it occurred to me that the baby bird probably would not be able to eat the food, but I bought it anyways, just in case. Now my mind is really going because I realize that I am probably going to have to get him a worm, eeww yikes I don’t even use worms for fishing, I use power bait (ROFL). Through the night, we fed him with the eye dropper and he ate it and then chirped at us, how sweet to hear him tweet. I shredded some paper to make a little nest in the bottom of the cage, he quickly nuzzled up to it.
This morning I called to him ” Little man” how are you? He tweeted and then I gave him some water, I think I may grind up some of the food and put it in the syringe and see what happens. What a golden day indeed!
Enjoy!

Love the Altered Journal page !!!
Great work !
Looks like I got a “bird’s eye” view on things today…EGGZactly. I really think those wire cages are awesome and I like the bird houses. I’m a birdwatcher but hesitant on disturbing nature, maybe because I was scolded for it when I was little. I am curious how this is going to turn out and will be keeping in touch. Meanwhile, Keep and eye out for BUddaH….Love your BLOGS>
I’m TWEETING over your amazing art & that great big HEART of yours!
xoxo
Hello Ladies,
I really wasn’t expecting anyone to comment on this post,so first a great big “Thank you” to all of you, it’s nice to hear from you!
Little Man is doing just fine, I ground up the feed and fed it to him thru the syringe he ate it and turned his head when he had had enough.(Thank goodness I did not have to go and dig up a worm) He is so funny, he sleeps alot but when ever I speak to him he livens up and tweets at me.
As for Buddha( the cat)uh ha she is an animal of interest, I have my suspicions, on the demise of the other bird, after it fell from the nest. She has been stretching her self all over the place, and trying to get my attention,as a matter of fact she came into the office and spoke to me this morning, in her little cat sounds.I ‘ve got my eye on her…
And I am not so sure about that big heart, you were talking about Monica. But I hope you will enjoy the next post…
Art on everyone!

Update to report:
I am sorry to say that little man has expired…sad but true, I feel good in knowing that I saved him from an almost certain demise from Buddha the cat.
