Here is Pattie’s altered book, that she worked on during the workshop, it turned out great, she used the wall book format, I have it on good authority that someone is going to get a big surprise in the mail shortly… hum , I wonder who it could be? We will all just have to wait and see who it is?………………How fun is this?

This past Saturday, I instructed the Altered Book/Journal Workshop here in my home,

with a group of lovely ladies, most of which I met at Artiscape last year.

Jolene Slack , Joan Liddle, Eleanor Welch, and my friend Pattie Clarkson

.

We sanded, sawed, gessoed, beeswaxed, testurized,used encaustics, and gel mediumed, till we could do no more.

All the books were beautifully done, with lot’s of thought and creative spirit!

I have been chatting with a friend of mine Pattie Clarkson, and she has informed me that she has won an honorable mention in the Artchix Paper doll Swap, Congratulations Pattie, Love those Rabbit Ears.

Pattie also participated in the Collage Museum’s International Baker’s Dozen Collage exchange, and one of her pieces will be added to the Museum’s Permanent Collection.(Way to Go!) Photos should be online shortly!

I am looking forward to the winter months, as some of you may or may not know, this is when I go into production mode with new designs, and my mind has been busy conjuring some new pieces of jewelry, I have several new sketches and can hardly wait to put the hammer to the Metal.

Before I end this post, I ‘d like to say please take a moment and remember those Men and Women who lives where tragically changed in Fort Hood, Texas… Keep those Volunteer Military Service (men and women) in your hearts during the Holiday Season!

As I once again put another cry out to the Universe, (during one of my many trials and tribulations)

Here, to my surprise is what I received in return.

A “Prayer Pocket” containing wishes and prayers from an Artist Named Gabe Cys in Aberdeen Washington,

The letter goes on to say that “the pocket is not meant to be opened or read…just for you to have in the awareness that somewhere another artist cares and “has your back” in the vagaries of Life.”

What a wonderful little gift and thought, Thank you so much!

Ok everyone, you know how I like to perform little experiments?

I took the plunge and tried a GREEN RECIPE…

A hard boiled egg and a pair of newly formed sterling silver earrings.

I have to tell you that it smells much better than Liver of sulphur, and you can watch the process,

and see the magic happen before your eyes, this is what they looked like after 15 minutes.

Back in the bag they go for some more magic…all I am thinking is if it does this to metal ,what is it doing to the inside of me?

No wonder I have such a bad reaction to eggs..LOL.

Egg salad anyone? Just kidding.
