I know it appears to some, that I have not been doing much of anything, however,
I wanted to share some Art news with you,
My application was accepted to the 36th Annual Neptune Festival in Virginia Beach, on the Boardwalk!
I have to say that I have become very fond of the Virginia Beach area, it seems as though this place grounds my spirit, so I probably do not have to tell you that I am looking forward to this little adventure, sand, beach, ocean, what more can I say?
Who knows I may even retire to this little heaven on earth someday…
At least my son’s think it’s a given.
I don’t know though, it’s a toss up between Santa Fe and Virginia Beach, I am still weighing the options out for now…in the meantime I am still unpacking from Beadfest Philadlephia which was great, I had several returning students, and some very anxious students ready to explore “Torch enameling” in the Spring, at Beadfest Wire. I will post the link as it becomes available.
I am working on new designs while organizing the jewelry studio space.
I will warn you that my space is not as glamorous as one would think and I still cannot say that creativity is NEAT, with that said here it is in all it’s glory…still a work in progress, but it’s getting there.

New toys….
(With all this, there is still stuff to unpack from Teaching on the road! And stuff to pack up for the Show, Imagine that)
Hope all is well, I will post back in a few weeks, with photos from the beach, and festival.
Peace,
Cheryl

Due to a few very ugly incidents last year, I found it very difficult to paint, a few people made up stories to make themselves look better and tried to lead me to believe some untrue things, However I know different and with that said ,I feel much better and look I even collaged something just a bit creepy and on the darkside!
Isn’t it funny how life has a way of working out…

Uh huh, yep I am back!
I just got a new supply of creepy little dolls and children, so watch out!
Enjoy!

“National Navajo Code Talkers Day actually celebrates and honors the American Indians
that served in the six Marine divisions during World War II,
who transmitted messages by telephone and radio in their native language;
a code the Japanese were never able to break.
But before there were code talkers, American Indians sometimes communicated from community to community by using smoke signals.
Using smoke to cleanse and clear has played an integral role in almost every culture and tradition since the dawn of time.
And the reason this method stands the tests of time is that is does an amazing job of ameliorating negative energies while inviting new and luck filled ones into your space.
Cleanse with smoke when you first move into a new space or when an important relationship ends.
Clear your space after an illness is over or when someone or something unpleasant has taken your energy and your time.
Light some incense or even a small dried sage leaf. Light the leaf so the flame burns and then flow it out until the leaf is smoky and smoldering.
Blow or waft the smoke in all directions in order to cover global concerns and then just let it burn out. I’m not just blowing smoke up your, well, you know.
This really does release and relinquish the negative while opening the door to the successful and new.”

I don’t know about you, but I think I will light some nag champa incense today!
Sending Smoke signals to you!
Peace…

I am continuing to explore the colors and textures of Lead free enamels,
Sometimes purposely underfiring pieces, to create the bumpy orange peel affect.
I think it gives the piece more of an interesting look…Cause I am a texture girl.
Stay tuned for the Pistachio colored Heart…
Venturing to IKEA, was an experience full of memories where I spent
Many summers along the Ohio River, The route took me thru a small town in Pennsylvania
Called Hookstown, where I stayed with my Aunt many Summers,
at their vacation home complete with a light house, atv’s and boats what fun we had back in the day,
and on thru West Virginia, reaching the final destination IKEA Pittsburgh.
Complete with welcome flags.

Entering was like a kid in a candy store, where do I go first?

After finding my way around the DIY Furniture, I ventured into the housewares,
It seemed a bit of a maze, and the further I went the dizzier I became, what Lost in IKEA?
I had to ask for directions on how to get to the check out. By this time I was laughing.
Once home I told my son how I got lost and then he asked me if I went up to the second floor?
What there is a second floor at IKEA? Oh no, Now I have to go back, because I missed the second floor
And my chairs are on Sale at the end of the month.
How’s Your Summer?
Enjoy…

The weather here has been rainy and dreary with grey skies,
So I am coloring my world with Corel Photo Paint!
Did I tell you that my cousin Debbie and her significant other have the greenest thumbs, I have ever seen,
because look at the Colorful Harvest,
They gave me for my “Ya know ya want it ” SALSA!

What color is your world?
Enjoy,
Cheryl
